The personality of swirling colors

You know how sometimes you meet someone, and you get this vibe, like a colour swirling around them? You observe an aura, a hue revolving around their body. Actually, for the years that I could remember, I've seen people in this kind of situation. Being around a person is like greeting a new colour; it varies depending on how well you know each other. Sounds kinda crazy, right? But hear me out.

I grew up without an inkling in my mind as to why people thought like that. It's just the way life is. Only recently, I came across a very interesting book called "Surrounded by Idiots" by Thomas Erikson, and it was then when I was intrigued how personalities might be associated with certain colours.

The first character we meet is Red. It is these people, the movers and the shakers, the ones who are passionate and driven. Imagine they are the ones leading your way. They are always trendy, self-assured, and ready to take the reck. Talking to a Red will make you sense that their energy is bubbling over dynamically and spilling out of the room.

Then there’s Blue. Blues are, quite, and relaxed. They are the closers, the ones who always come up with a plan. They make excellent listeners and are always with you when you need them. Blues are similar to a quiet ocean, just showing a deep surface.

Next we’ve got Yellow. It is them – the sunshine guys with their perpetual smiles and sharing of joy as they go around. Yellows are super chatty, happy, and always down for an exciting adventure. Without a doubt, they are the party people and are ready to give anything a go.

And we finish with the colour Green. Greens are calm and nonchalant - the chill mood. They are laid back and malleable, like a warm and green vegetation. Having a green friend is a great deal as you can count on them in good times and bad times, no matter what.

Now here’s a catch, when you come across a person for the first time they could present to you a specific colour atmosphere. However, after a time of living with them, you discover that this colour may transform and reshape into something new. Probably you thought an individual is a Red at first, but once you uncover their personality they turn out to be a combination of Blue and Yellow. It's as if I were raking away the layers of rainbow skin to reveal the hidden colours.

For people who see colours like I do, it has proven to be a real roller coaster. Sometimes it’s foolish, sometimes it’s useful, but it’s always entertaining. Or maybe it's just my crazy imagination playing me wild. Otherwise, what's the point of it?

With this in mind, next time you bump into someone new, make an effort to take a close look to see if there are any spots of colour around. Perhaps you would learn something new about them, or even about yourself, by this approach.
