When it comes to mental health, exercise has always been a crucial component regarding the enhancement and fortification of one’s mental health. Exercising regularly has been connected to reduction in depression and loneliness due to the release of endorphins (“feel good hormones”) that are a product of exercise. Along with this, exercise reduces the cortisol hormone which is the most drastic stress hormone present in the body.

Exercising promotes better sleep which leads to a better overall health, both of which are factors that can greatly improve mental health, thus allowing better emotional fortification and better cognitive activity,

With consistency one can alter their physical appearance altogether, which can lead to a boost in self-esteem and confidence thus reducing anxiety or any such fear, Furthermore exercising incorporates a variety of sports and methods of physical activity, of which a substantial amount involves group cooperation which can lead to an ease in social surroundings and ease with interactions,

These effects will most effectively be attained through a sport or form of exercise which you enjoy, whether it may be strength training, basketball, football, if you enjoy it and if you can benefit through it, it is most ideal for you and your mental health. To conclude, exercising is just one of the many gears that allow the functioning of mental health, and just like all gears it must be well oiled, so don’t forget to exercise!
